The model on the left side of the picture illustrates left lateral bending coupled with the proper rotation. The dorsal spines are vertical, slightly inclined toward the inside of the bend. By contrast, the model on the right side illustrates left lateral bending coupled with an inverted rotation, and The dorsal spines are shifted toward the outside of the bend.


The inverted rotation pictured on the right side was the root cause of Dominique’s navicular syndrome. The inverted rotation of the thoracic spine loaded the right front legs and the kinematics adaptation induced excessive stress on the navicular apparatus.

I corrected the thoracolumbar spine dysfunction, and Dominique regained soundness and remained sound until the last day of his life.
